Kendell Geers, born in Johannesburg in 1960, has made his mark on the international scene as an artist, curator and critic. His works, which include actions, installations, photographs and videos, approach the question of his identity as a white African, and the complicated relationships of force in society and politics. Geers has participated at Documenta 11 in Kassel, the Berlin Biennial in 2001, Casino 2001 at S.M.A.K. in Ghent, Belgium.
